Thusong Service Centre is a government initiative which came into existence in 1999 as Multi-Purpose Community Centre to extend services and information in an integrated way to communities. The programme was first rolled out in terms of the first generation strategy targeting the establishment of one centre per district until 2004. The Programme is now guided by the 2014 Business Plan which is also called the second generation strategy, targeting the establishment of at least one Thusong Service Centre per local Municipality. Limpopo Province approved the Provincial Strategy in 2010 to establish and operationalise the Thusong Service Centres in all Municipalities of the Province in line with “Vision 2014”.
The Maruleng Municipality is situated on in the Southern Eastern quadrant of the Limpopo Province within the Mopani District Municipal Area jurisdiction.
